REBUILDING KITS and PARTS
Ford Non-Integral Steering Box Parts & Rebuild Kits
Steering Box Rebuild Kit
Steering Box Rebuild Kit
These are the finest steering box rebuild kits on the market today., They contain all the available replacement parts needed to renew your rebuildable steering box core. The parts are all good quality pieces and have been used in hundreds or successful rebuilds.

Kits include both upper and lower Sector Shaft Needle Bearings, upper and lower Input Shaft/Worm Gear Bearings and Races, Sector Shaft Lower Seal, Top Plate gasket and Housing Bearing Plug.

What makes this kit superior to all the rest, is the comprehensive iillustrated instructions. A full eight pages of pictures and text, explaining removal, teardown, cleaning, inspection, reassembly and adjustment. These instructions were compiled by a professional rebuilder and are more complete than any magazine article or manual, including the original Ford shop manuals.
The instructions are written with the home mechanic in mind and take into account that these steering boxes are 25 to 45 years old and have certain common characteristics and problems.
To determine which kit you need, measure the diameter of the sector shaft above the pitman arm splines or go HERE to decode the ID tag on the top of the box.

STEERING BOX PARTS
NOTE for 1960-1963 Falcons: The original steering boxes used in most 1960-1963 Falcons used bronze bushings for the sector shaft before upgrading to needle bearings. New replacement bushings are no longer available and later style needle bearings will not fit in their place. It is recommended that these early bushed housings be replaced with a later style housing so that needle bearings can be installed for a better quality rebuild. The housings are not exactly identical, but they are very close. The mounting hole locations are the same and all other internal and external pieces will interchange.
ID Tags - We have a selection of good used steering box ID tags, mostly for Mustangs.  If your box is missing .......
the ID tag, it is damaged or you are looking for a tag with a certain assembly date code, we might be able to help. Let us know what you are looking for and we will check to see what is available Sorry, no HCC-AX tags available.
